Williams and his friends came across a rotting whale carcass.<br />
<br />
His friends thought it would be funny if he would "surf" on the whale. So he jumped in the water and swam to the carcass.<br />
<br />
While he was on top of the carcass his friends' amusement did not last long when they saw sharks swimming and eating the whale's flesh.<br />
<br />
There were reports of several tiger sharks and at least one great white shark surrounding the whale carcass.<br />
<br />
The man did safely got off the carcass.<br />
<br />
His parents were not thrilled of what he did. 'Mum thinks I'm an idiot'<br />
<br />
He agrees with them and says he's pretty grateful to still be alive.<br />

According to experts the 2 solar storms should arrive to Earth on Saturday. The Space Weather Prediction Center will issue a a strong geometric storm watch.<br />

People on Earth shouldn't be affected by the solar storms but they can knock out power and interfere with GPS and radio communications.<br />

Although the solar storm can interfere with our technology, it creates a beautiful aurora. The aurora should happen Thursday and Friday night, but it won't be easy to see if you're in a major metropolitan area.<br />

Scientists classify strong solar flares according to a three-tiered system, with C flares being the weakest, M flares medium-strength and X flares the most powerful.<br />

Wednesday's X1.6 flare qualifies as intense, but is far from the strongest blasted out by the sun this year. For example, our star fired off a monster X4.9 flare in February. (X4 flares are four times as powerful as X1 flares.)<br />

The sun is currently at or near the peak phase of its 11-year activity cycle, which is known as Solar Cycle 24. But our star has been relatively quiescent during Solar Cycle 24, whose max phase is the weakest in about 100 years, scientists say.<br />

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory is one of several spacecraft regularly monitoring the sun to track space weather events and their potential risks to astronauts and satellites.<br />

Strange creatures called Velella velella have washed ashore California beaches. They are not jellyfish but they are jelly-like cratures. Another name for them is "by-the-wind sailors" because they have a clear fin that sticks out from their blue, oval body.<br />

"Every now and then, the currents and the winds will change and these guys will, instead of being pushed out to sea, they actually wind up on the beach," said Bader. These creatures started showing up around Washington, Oregon and later in San Francisco.<br />

Velella velella sting to catch their food but the sting is not very potent so humans shouldn't get hurt. The sea-creature uses its tentacles, that are like a jellyfish, to catch plankton and fish eggs. The creatures float on top of the ocean leaving them at the mercy of the wind and the current.<br />

"A lot of people probably never knew an organism like this existed in the world," Bader said. "And you know the winds change, and all of a sudden they wash up on shore and we get to see what the ocean is really made of."<br />
